FIELD: mechanical engineering. SUBSTANCE: gas preheater has radiant and convective chambers and transfer wall which is made of heat-resistant material at high radiating power and is located in clearance between adjacent vertical rows of tubes of radiant and convective coils; thickness of transfer wall does not exceed 0.1 diameter of coil tubes and its inner envelope is made of thin-walled heat-resistant material at high radiating power; clearance between inner envelope and outer skin of preheater is filled with light heat-insulating material. Connection of transfer wall with inner envelope of preheater is effected by means of closure filled with heat-resistant seal. Located on wall of radiant chamber are radiating burners with perforated metal radiator. Hearth of envelope is provided with device for discharge of water steam condensate.
