FIELD: ammonia production, in particular, reforming of natural gas.
SUBSTANCE: method involves mixing compressed natural gas for technological purposes with ammonia-comprising exhaust gas of ammonia synthesis cycle; heating in additional convective coil of primary reforming furnace; providing low-temperature sulfur purification process; mixing with heated water vapor; heating in convective coil of primary reforming furnace; directing to reaction pipes of radiant zone of primary reforming furnace; utilizing flue gas heat of primary reforming furnace in additional coils of convective zone by heating natural gas and condensate of stripping tower.
EFFECT: reduced power consumption, reliable and safe operation of equipment, optimized modes of operation at sulfur purification stage and of heat-utilizing apparatuses of primary reforming furnace and increased yield of ammonia.
