FIELD: mining; burying of drain waters in permafrost. SUBSTANCE: observation holes are drilled to bottom of seam located above working header into which drain waters are pumped. Then temperature in check header is found. Basing on this temperature found is concentration of solution whose freezing point should be 1-3 C lower than temperature in header. Solution is prepared and pumped into observation holes in amounts sufficient to cover area under checking. Then hydrogeological observations in holes are carried out. Danger to nature is judged by abnormal change of level, temperature and concentration of pumped in solution. EFFECT: enhanced reliability of checking. 2 dwg
