FIELD: production of single-crystal synthetic diamonds applicable in manufacture of diamond tools. SUBSTANCE: salient surface is obtained by sintering blanks preliminarily pressed of powders at temperature equalling 0.60-0.95 of the melting point of blank component material for which this temperature is minimal, for 0.25-4.0 h. EFFECT: higher grade of conversion of graphite into diamond, increased homogeneity of obtained product by grade and grain size with simultaneous increase of the content of single-crystals of large fractions and provision of regulation of distribution of diamonds by grain sizes. 1 cl, 1 tbl
