METHOD OF AND DEVICE FOR CHECKING WHEEL CAMBER ANGLE Russian patent published in 1996 - IPC

Abstract RU 2061948 C1

FIELD: automobiles. SUBSTANCE: located on one wheel is first point, and on other wheel, second point positioned in one diametric plane at equal distance from wheel axis. Third point is located on other end of diameter relative to first point. Then first point is placed in upper position and found are first distance between first and second points and third distance between second and third points. Then vehicle should be rolled to place first point in lower position and second distance between first and second points and fourth distance between second and third points are found. Sum of camber angles is calculated by difference between first and second distances, and difference of camber angles, by difference between third and fourth distances. Device for checking wheel camber angle has rod and sliding brackets one of which is installed for turning around rod axis and other for sliding along rod with fixing in position relative to rod. Stop is mounted on one of brackets square to its axis, and movable member is installed on other bracket. Secured on wheel square to their axles are flat members with locating members installed equidistantly from center. Stop and movable member engage with reference members. Bob can be mounted on flat member for rotation relative to point of support. EFFECT: enlarged operating capabilities. 3 cl, 3 dwg
