FIELD: agriculture. SUBSTANCE: method involves exposing 2-day sprouts for 24 hours to osmotic solution and simultaneously providing low or high temperature conditions; determining growth process intensity by root growth rate recovery extent as compared to root growth rate of control plants which were grown for 10 and 24 hours to evaluate North-type drought and for 24 and 34 hours for South-type drought. EFFECT: increased efficiency and reliable data obtained by this method. 4 tbl
