FIELD: mail equipment. SUBSTANCE: mail bag has support adjoining mail bag mouth portion and composed of several members. Each support member has flat elongate part fastened to mail bag fabric. Elongated part longitudinal axis is parallel to mail bag mouth edge. Each support member is provided with fastening parts for supporting mail bag during handling operations. Fastening parts may have integral fasteners with holes. Fasteners are attached at several points along elongated part edges and extend away from these edges. One mail bag embodiment includes four supporting members. Each elongate part makes 1/4 of mail bag edge length. Fastening parts are attached to middle points of elongate parts. Another mail bag embodiment may have two supporting members and each elongate part makes half the length of mail bag edge and may be bent in its middle point. Fastening parts are positioned between ends and middle portion of elongate part. Elongate parts may be secured to edge portion adjacent to mail bag mouth. Fastening member is passed through edge hole. In other embodiment elongate part is stitched to mail bag fabric in the process of manufacture. Supporting members may be made from molded plastic material, preferably, from polypropylene, and mail bag may be woven from the same material. Method involves using mail bag fabric with woven strips of different colors which may be spaced one from the other to provide quick and correct positioning of elongate parts on mail bag fabric.
