DIAPHRAGM DEVICE FOR SEPARATING GAS MIXTURES Russian patent published in 1996 - IPC

Abstract RU 2063264 C1

FIELD: separation of materials. SUBSTANCE: device comprises cylindric housing 1 and releasable flanges 3,4,5 which are mounted on ring setting surfaces 2 inside the housing. Flange 4 serves only for connection of two or more parts of the device to form a one-pice assembly. Flange 3 has central opening 6 and opening 7 for supplying gas to be separated. Flange 4 has central opening 6 and opening 8 for discharging gas that penetrates from the first part of the device to the second part. Flange 5 has opening 9 for discharging the fluid from the second part of the device and so on. An assembly of diffusion members 10, which are arranged inside housing 1 and glued together with sealing mass 11, is separated by ring spacers 12 made of a material penetrable for the mixture to be separated, such as a simply braided grid. The assembly of diffusion members 10 together with sealing mass 11 form common manifold 13 the inner diameter of which is equal to the diameter of central opening 6. Each diffusion member 10 is a plane disk with central opening equal in diameter to central opening 6 and two opposite segment cuts and semi- penetrable diaphragms positioned on both sides of the drain support. The drain support is made up as central grid and simply braided grids arranged from both sides of the central grid and glued to each other and to semi- penetrable diaphragms over the edge of the segment cuts and outer diameter that is equal to the diameter of the inner surface of the housing. By varying the number of part of the device connected in series, an optimal operation condition can be obtained for different pressure and concentration of the gas mixture to be separated. EFFECT: enhanced efficiency. 2 cl, 3 dwg
