METHOD OF MAKING MEMBRANE UNIT Russian patent published in 1994 - IPC

FIELD: medical equipment. SUBSTANCE: membrane unit has case provided with couplings for supplying and removing medium to be separated and for removing permeate. The case is disposed in case of membrane module. The case is made of flat semitransparent membranes. There are separation-drainage gaskets which have sealing regions for forming alternating chambers, which communicates with couplings for supplying and removing medium to be separated and removing permeate. Sealing regions are made in form of bars-strips of thermosoftening plastic material. The regions are disposed in side wall of the chambers (the media move along the side directions relatively the walls). The regions are rigidly connected with flat membranes to form two groups of alternating slotted composition support-sealing columns being open to direction of supply and removal of medium and permeate; the columns are formed from rigidly connected and alternating layers of membranes and material of bars-strips, which are connected hermetically one to another and with membrane module. Spaces are formed for distribution of medium separated for medium chambers, as well as spaces for collecting and removing medium and permeate. Each space communicates with corresponding couplings for supplying and removing medium and permeate and supplying medium. Membrane unit is mounted at softening temperature of thermosoftening plastic material of sealing regions and units of the case.
