FIELD: desalting of natural and artificial reservoirs. SUBSTANCE: method consists in spraying water under negative air temperature along the perimeter of a lake by means of sprinkler, forming a porous ice pack, respraying nonfrozen saline water until its freezing temperature becomes 5 C higher than air temperature, removing residual saline water beyond the lake, and finally removing the first portions of the thawed high-mineralized drain in the beginning of natural thawing and allowing inflow of the remaining mass of the thawed water into the lake.
