FIELD: steel constructions. SUBSTANCE: composition of a construction steel designed for operation under low climatic temperatures containing copper as an additional ingredient is as follows (in wt %): 0.12-0.20 carbon, 0.20-0.60 manganese, 0.15-1.00 silicium, 0.10-0.60 copper, 0.02-0.06 aluminium, 0.007-0.025 nitrogen, 0.02-0.10 vanadium, 0.01-0.05 titanium, 0.02-0.04 calcium, 0.001-0.010 neodymium, 0.0005-0.005 cerium, 0.0005-0.005 barium, iron - the rest, the vanadium to titanium ratio being in the range 1.8-2.0. EFFECT: increased plasticity of impact strength at negative temperatures up to -70 C and after mechanical ageing, increased corrosion resistance. 2 tbl
