SUBSTANCE: rail steel is composed of, wt %: carbon 0.78-0.95, manganese 0.6-1.0, silicon 0.3-0.6, vanadium 0.05-0.15, aluminum up to 0.005, nitrogen 0.012-0.02, molybdenum 0.01-0.2, nickel 0.05-0.3, niobium 0.003-0.02, titanium 0.002-0.01, two or more element selected from group including barium 0.0005-0.0015, alkali-earth metals 0.0005-0.0010, calcium 0.0005-0.0010, zirconium 0.0005-0.0010, iron the rest, provided that steel may contain, as impurity, sulfur no more than 0.015, phosphorus no more than 0.020, and copper no more than 0.20.
EFFECT: improved complex of mechanical properties, reduced oxide inclusions, and improved durability of rails.
