FIELD: measurement technology. SUBSTANCE: input signal being analyzed is compared with reference sine-wave signal; in the process, instant value of signals within selected time spaces is measured at definite time instants equally spaced from center of half-wave of respective signals, ratio modules of instant values of two signals are determined, values obtained are averaged, and desired absolute average value is found from equation , where Uas is absolute average value of analyzed signal; Ks is averaged value of ratio modules of instant values of signals; Uras is absolute value of reference sine-wave signal; Us is component of average value of analyzed signal. Method is most useful for analyzing signals at infralow frequencies as we need neither separate absolute value of input signal nor filter off fundamental of analyzed signal in wide dynamic range. EFFECT: improved measurement accuracy and speed of response. 2 dwg
