FIELD: wine-making industry, microbiology. SUBSTANCE: invention relates with new hybrid strain Saccharomyces cerevisiae x Saccharomyces bayanus "ВКПМ"-2160 that can be used in wine-making industry. Hybrid yeast strain is obtained by crossing yeast strain Saccharomyces cerevisiae "ВКПМ У"-712 with strain Saccharomyces bayanus Fc 1118 and deposited in "ВКПМ" at N Y-2160. Hybrid yeast strain "ВКПМ У"-2160 is able to synthesize "killer"-toxin lysing related yeast cells. EFFECT: high quality of wines prepared with use of new hybrid yeast strain. 2 tbl
