FIELD: electrical engineering for control of illumination of staircase, corridors and other rooms of dwelling and public houses. SUBSTANCE: device comprises time-delay electronic relay 3 with composite transistor 23 which ensures reliable operation of the device in the conditions of probable static charges and other interferences, as well as a high output resistance and, respectively, high time delays at comparatively low capacitances of capacitors 25 and 26. Illumination device can be connected in any break point of the electric illumination circuit without any change of the existing wiring of the building. The device ensures on "easy" duty of operation of illuminating incandescent lamps 13 and considerable service life due to the fact that their filament is constantly in a "hot" state, and the above lamps 13 are switched on to the total power smoothly. Besides, the device provides for selective control of the operating duty of illuminating lamps 13 in place and time which allows to save electric power to a definite extent and enhance the lamps service life because of this factor.
