LONG-CUT LOG BUNCH SEPARATOR Russian patent published in 1996 - IPC

FIELD: timber and wood working industry, separation of log bunches or long-cut assortments; unloading of logs or assortment from carrying vehicles. SUBSTANCE: device has sprocket 6 freely fitted on turning axle 5 and engaged with traction chain of conveyor 2. It has clutch member 9 also arranged on above-indicated axle and spring-loaded relative to sprocket. Coupling members 10, 11 of clutch engage with similar members 12, 13 of fixed clutch members mounted on sprocket and grip. Clutch member 9 has coupling member 14 over outer perimeter for engagement with coupling members 15 (tooth stops) located on carriage 3. This provides fixing of grips 4 both in preset angular position and relative to carriage 3 when the latter is moved. Device has controlled electromagnets with stops one of which provides fixing of sprocket on axle, with separator carriage moving, and the other, provides engagement of clutch member 9 and sprocket 6 for turning and gripping. EFFECT: simplified control of grip turning drive, enhanced fixing of grips 4 is preset position, reduced power consumption. 4 dwg
