FIELD: organic chemistry, biotechnology. SUBSTANCE: product: S-enantiomer of optically active cyanohydrin. Reagent 1: corresponding aldehyde or methylketone. Reagent 2: cyano-group donor - R1R2C(OH)(CN), where R1, R2 - alkyl. Reaction conditions: enzyme S-hydroxynitrillyase at activity at least 500 U, preferably, 500-2000 U, diluting agent, preferably, aqueous one. Donor: acetonecyanohydrin and S-hydroxynitrillyase from genus Hevea Brasiliensis or Sorghum bicolor are preferable. Isolation and purification is carried out by chromatography. Obtained product is used for synthesis bioactive substances (vitamins, pyrethroids, etc.). EFFECT: improved method of synthesis. 5 cl
