FIELD: fat and oil industry. SUBSTANCE: gossypol is prepared from crude black cotton oil by its treatment with 4% sodium hydroxide aqueous solution at 80-90 C. After settling and cooling 10% sulfuric acid solution is added at 30 C. Precipitate is extracted with ethyl acetate (or methylene chloride) at ratio 1-(1: 2). After removal of an aqueous layer the ether layer is concentrated and technical gossypol is precipitated with hexane. After drying precipitate is obtained at gossypol content 70-80%. EFFECT: improved method of gossypol preparing.
