FIELD: ceramics. SUBSTANCE: aqueous binder constitutes a sol gel of the mixture of high-charge cations of metal hydroxides and aluminium tridecamer of the formula [AlO4Al12(OH)24•2OH2O]7+,7X0 and at least one of the low-charge cations of metal hydroxides where metal is selected from the group: aluminium, silicium, zirconium, titanium, iron, and nickel at ratio (0.005-1): 1. The binder is prepared as follows. The sol of salts of the low-charge cations of metal hydroxides is prepared with water acidified to pH 1.5-4 with hydrochloric or nitric acid, activation of the sol by heating to 70-100 C at given pH 1.5-4 until 3-12% sol gel is formed. To this sol gel, an aqueous solution of the high-charge cation salts of the metal hydroxides, containing 0.05-10 g of salts per 10 g of the low-charge cation salts in the sol gel, is added. The sol gel so obtained is then heated to a specified temperature for about 1 h at constant pH 1.5-4. EFFECT: a new binder obtained.
