FIELD: nuclear engineering; manufacture of cores from uranium oxide and plutonium oxide mixture for nuclear reactor fuel elements. SUBSTANCE: process involves preparation of granules and charge, oxidizing and reducing treatment of granules, compacting of pellets, and their sintering. In case of plutonium concentration in mixture up to 20% at., two cycles of oxidizing-reducing treatment are conducted and three cycles are required when its concentration is 20 to 30% at. EFFECT: optimal characteristics of granules obtained, uniform structure of pellets in compacting and sintering stages, reduced pollution of environment due to reduced dust emission in the process. 3 dwg, 1 tbl
