FIELD: nuclear energy.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the field of nuclear energy and can be used in the technology of manufacturing ceramic oxide uranium-plutonium nuclear fuel for fuel elements of nuclear reactors on fast and thermal neutrons. The method for manufacturing pellets of mixed oxide uranium-plutonium fuel includes the operations of preparing a press powder, granulating, pressing, sintering and, if necessary, grinding the resulting pellets. Additionally contains a powder obtained as a result of oxidation of defective sintered pellets of uranium-plutonium fuel, in an amount of up to 20 wt.%.
EFFECT: invention makes it possible to dispose of defective uranium-plutonium fuel pellets with a reduction in the amount of radioactive waste generated.
