METHOD AND INSTALLATION TO MEASURE WATER DRAIN Russian patent published in 1996 - IPC

FIELD: measurement technology. SUBSTANCE: invention is related to technology for measurement of flow rate of liquid in open canal, in particular, for measurement of water drain. In agreement with method water drain is passed through one or row of water discharge tanks connected in series. In each of them inlet flow of water is divided into streams equal in rate. All water drain is directed into first water discharge thank. One of streams of previous water discharge tank is directed into each next water discharge tank. From last water discharge tank one of streams proportional in rate to water DRAIN is directed into measuring counter. Installation to measure drain includes inlet duct 7 of water drain, measuring counter 14, row of water discharge tanks connected in series. Each tank is divided with vertical partition 2 with openings 3 in part close to bottom into intake chambers 4, 8, 12 and dividing compartments 5, 10 which upper parts have discharge windows 6, 11 similar in shape and dimensions made at one horizontal level. Intake tank 17 is joined to dividing compartment of last water discharge tank. Upper part of tank 17 houses trough 13 for discharge of water into one of chambers 14 of measuring counter. Water discharging trough 16 fitted with partitions 18, 19 is mounted along water discharge and intake tanks. EFFECT: simplified design, increased functional reliability. 2 cl, 1 dwg
