FIELD: chemical engineering. SUBSTANCE: technical gas is cooled in reactor so that gas comes to direct contact with fluidized solid particles separated from technical gas after processing and preferably returned into reactor. Technical gas to be processed is mixed either uninterruptedly or in short intervals with recycling solid particles and gas, which at least partly is the same technical gas having been processed and free of solid particles. Method presumes at least one of the two components, gas or solid particles, to be colder than technical gas to be processed. A device is also developed to process technical gas as described above. This is upright reactor with inlet for technical gas in its bottom section. Reactor accommodates mixing chamber whose cone-like bottom is pointed downwards and has at least one inlet opening positioned below cone-like bottom or in close vicinity of it. This opening is intended for gas to be mixed with technical gas or for evaporating liquid. Device also has at least one inlet tube for solid particles located either in wall or in cone-like bottom of the mixing chamber. EFFECT: enhanced efficiency in cooling technical gases. 23 cl, 7 dwg
