FIELD: manufacture of building materials; drying kilns for ceramic articles. SUBSTANCE: multi-stage drying kiln has drying, roasting and cooling zones, containers for transportation of articles and heat source. Channels of multi-channel roasting zone are inclined at an angle of 20 to 90 deg to the horizontal. Motion of articles in roasting zone is effected by means of gravitational forces. Joint areas with drying and cooling zones are rounded off radially; drying and cooling zones are provided with recirculating systems. Drying zone may be provided with baths filled with liquid heat-transfer agent; conveyers for transportation of articles pass through these baths. EFFECT: enhanced reliability. 2 cl, 6 dwg
