FIELD: textile engineering, in particular, construction of composite needles for effectuating loop forming and loop transfer cycles. SUBSTANCE: composite needle has closer composed of two parts removably connected one with the other so that front part may be deflected upward by projections, which are made by profiling stem of closer contacting with stem projections on needle sides. Bevel of nose made on closer front part facet is directed in opposed relation with respect to needle bevel. Protrusion made on closer front part facet has height exceeding that of needle hook, which makes continuation of depression terminated with shoulders. EFFECT: increased efficiency, simplified construction and enhanced reliability in operation. 12 dwg
