FIELD: measurement technology. SUBSTANCE: method involves submersion of probe into liquid, measurement of momentary values of velocities of movement of probe at three specified moment of time over section with exponentially changing velocity, formation of system of three equations with three unknowns on the basis of taken measurements, solution of system of equations relative to time constant T of exponent, uniform velocity of submersion and initial velocity of submersion. With submersion of probe momentary velocity of submersion of probe is taken after chosen time interval and values of momentary velocities for these time moments are calculated in agreement with Stokes law. Conclusion on ultimate velocity at which Stokes law is valid is made by obtained experimental and calculated data. EFFECT: enhanced authenticity of method. 1 dwg
