FIELD: mechanical engineering. SUBSTANCE: head comprises housing, flanges 1,2 and guarding casing 3 that are rigidly interconnected and mounted inside the housing, and cutter holders 4 secured at the ends of shafts 5, which are received in coaxial openings of flanges 1 and 2 arranged uniformly over the periphery with the center at the axis of rotation parallel to the axis of the housing. Inertia weights 6 are rigidly secured to the same shafts in the space between flanges 1 and 2. The weights are made of the same bodies which are arbitrary in shape, the distance between the center of gravity of the bodies and their places on shaft 5 being as large as possible. Each inertia weight 6 is provided with pin 7 secured to its side. The pin is received in the through groove of ring carrier 8 mounted coaxially to the housing for permitting rotation about its axis. Each inertia weight 6 is connected with the housing through reverse spring 9. One end of spring 9 is fitted on pin 10 secured to inertia weight 6 and the other end is fitted on hook 11 secured to bushing 12 rigidly mounted inside the housing along its axis. When the head rotates under the action of the centrifugal forces, inertia weights 6 together with shafts 5 and cutter holders 4 synchronously rotate due to pins 7 secured to the side of inertia weights 6 and received in the grooves of ring carrier 8 that are the same in shape for all inertia weights 6.
