FIELD: forging equipment. SUBSTANCE: apparatus has frame, supports extending along sheet side edges and connected with cutter beam. Working surfaces of supports are oriented toward sheet longitudinal axis. Apparatus is further provided with mechanisms for rotating supports about longitudinal axis, guides fixed on frame, slides mounted in guides for displacement in vertical plane from upper cutter beam and connected with guides through return members. Each support is fixed with one end on frame adjacent to its sides for effectuating simultaneous rotation in vertical plane and about longitudinal axis. Supports are connected with upper cutter beam through slides rigidly fixed on other end of each support. Each support is provided with retaining member and its supporting surface width is at least 1/3 of scissors working space. Support rotating mechanism is formed as device for converting support progressive motion into rotary motion. Motion converting device may be made in the form of flexible member adapted to embrace support and attached with one end to frame and with other end to supporting surface, or in the form of rack-and-gear drive, whose toothed gear is fitted onto support and rack is attached on frame. Return member has spring or power cylinder. Support retaining member is formed as ratchet or cam mechanism and supporting surface is made by pins with rollers.
