SUBSTANCE: hydrostatic mattress has water enclosure 2 made from water-impermeable resilient sheet material, which is positioned in casing 3 made from resilient material. When utilized, enclosure 2 is supported by rigid surface. Bottom 4 and upper part 5 of enclosure 2 are interconnected along upper narrow edge 6 of casing 3. Upper part 5 of enclosure 2 is fastened to casing 3. Bottom 4 is in contact with inner inclined side surfaces 9 of casing 3 and rigid supporting surface. Bottom 4 is made double-walled and has intermediate air chamber 11, communicated with air source through hose 12. Upper surface 13 of air chamber 11 is provided with protruding flexible air pockets 14 open toward air chamber 11. When air is forced into air chamber 11 and air pockets 14, air pockets 14 urge water from water enclosure.
