FIELD: building materials and articles based on gypsum-containing wastes of chemical production, particular, phosphogypsum dehydrate applicable in manufacture of building stones and facing slabs. SUBSTANCE: method for manufacture of composites and articles includes grinding of mixtures, their mixing with 30% of water, molding of articles from obtained mixtures and their compaction by vibration, and steam treatment carried out in closed volume at temperature of 85-95 C for 12-14 h. Mixtures contain, mas.%: phosphogypsum dehydrate 95-97; slaked lime 3-5. EFFECT: articles manufactured from phosphogypsum dehydrate have strength corresponding to low-grade building gypsum binders at elevated temperatures with reduced duration of technological cycle. 2 tbl
