FIELD: civil engineering. SUBSTANCE: method for making and installation of cylindrical tanks with a shell of spiral type includes partial winding of the shell of strips interconnected over the height through folds, cutting upper edge of the shell in horizontal plane and installation of a roof on it, further winding the shell up to the height exceeding design one, assembling weighting and lifting device. Weighting out and lifting device are self-contained. Weighting out device is assembled out of the tank and secured to the folds from the outside of the shell. Then the shell is cut at lower design level. Lifting device is assembled inside the tank. Catching unit hung up from bearer cable of the lifting device is descending through roof manhole. Lifting device is secured to the catching unit to lift is to come in contact with the roof. Then the lifting, movement and installation of the tank to the design position through the lifting device mechanism is carried out. Weighting out device of the cylindrical tank with the shell of spiral type includes an upright of adjustable height with the head of perpendicular slots of different deep, and distributing member in the form of a channel with inner ribs and support bead between. Channel height is equal to the distance between adjacent folds of the shell. Channel shelves are placed at an angle about to the wall. The angle corresponds to the slope of the folds to shell surface. Inner ribs and installed perpendicular to channel wall and at an angle to its shelves equal to the angle between the line of fold winding and shell generatrix. Tank fasteners are placed on channel shelves. Lifting device of the cylindrical tank with charging hole includes a traverse in the form of conical rod-type member with fastening unit for catching device of the lifting mechanism in the apex and rigid base the dimensions of which in plane are not more than that of the charging hole in the roof, platform formed by paired blocks in one or several levels with support parts in the form of cross bars interacting with the roof in lifting the tank. Th traverse, platform beams and cross bars are interconnected so as to be detached. Weighting out device of the cylindrical tank with the shell of spiral type includes support upright of adjustable height with the head and perpendicular slots of different depth, distributing member formed by two guides with support bead between and fastening members in the form of traverses of T-shape with the shelf adjoining to the guides on the side facing the tank, and shell folded joints placed through a pitch equal to fold pitch. One traverse is attached to the guides immovable at an angle equal to the angle between fold winding line and shell generatrix. T walls are placed at an angle equal to the fold slope to shell surface. Cuts are originated in T walls and fasteners interacting with shell folds are placed on T walls.
