FIELD: production of sulfur of waste gases. SUBSTANCE: natural gas is fed in settle zone of metallurgical furnace, its quantity is 0.5-4.0 % of its total being used volume. Volume ratio CH4/O2 in it is 1.05-1.3. Degree of conversion of SO2 into elemental sulfur is 64-65 %. EFFECT: increases degree of conversion sulfur dioxide into elemental sulfur, stabilizes the temperature of the process. 1 tbl
