FIELD: hydraulic power engineering. SUBSTANCE: hydraulic power plant has working member 1 made up as cylindrical spiral 2 that, together with walls 3, forms a passage for flowing water and air through port 4 . Inside spiral 2 along its axis is pipe 6 wherein liquid turbine 17 is coaxially mounted. Rotor 20 of an electric generator is mounted on same shaft 16. Stator 21 of the electric generator is secured to other shaft 22 and provided with blades 26 of a gas turbine. Pipe 6 is separated by baffle 12 into two parts. One part, provided with turbine 17, has ports 19 at the bottom. The other part, provided with the electric generator, has ports 27 at the top. Rotor 20 and stator 21 of the electric generator and pipe 6 are mounted for permitting rotation with respect to working member 1 and each other. The outer sides of spiral 2 are provided with blades 5 which set working member 1 in rotation by way of water flow. When working member 1 is in rotation water and air enter the passageway in portions gradually flowing to its center. In so doing the air portions are compressed by the liquid portions in each turn of the spiral. The positive pressure of air and water is fed to the blades of turbines 26 and 17 through ports 27 and 18 thus accelerating stator 21 and rotor 20 of the electric generator to produce power.
