SUBSTANCE: method involves providing energy carrier and basic material used in the ratio of 4-50 kg/kg, with feed rate of energy carrier being 100-330 m/s and pressure being within the range of 2.0-10 kgf/sq.sm. Linear transverse sizes of basic material supplied to grinding chamber do not exceed 0.5 of grinding chamber height. Air, aerosol or gas suspension may be used as energy carrier. Apparatus has grinding chamber with wear-resistant inserts, baffles and cutting members formed as plates with sharpened cutting edge. Plates are positioned in grinding chamber side wall in front of energy carrier pipes. Baffles and cutting members may be united into single device. Gas suspension discharge unit is formed as shell with bottom. Grinding chamber is axially mounted within shell in spaced relation with respect to shell bottom on energy carrier pipes. Grinding chamber side wall has gas suspension cylindrical discharged slot with tangential inlet and outlet. Energy carrier supply nozzle has rectangular uniform section. Ratio of sections of central opening and gas suspension outlet slot is 2.5-50 and ratio of total area of opening and outlet slot sections and total area of energy carrier supply pipe sections is 2-40.
