FIELD: manufacture of nonwoven materials for cleaning and filtering of fluids. SUBSTANCE: filtering material has at least two layers of fibrous fabric and at least one layer of thread-sewn netted fibrous canvas fastened by needle. Fibrous fabrics have mineral and silicate filaments used in the ratio, % by weight: silicate filaments 70-0; mineral filaments 30-100. Thread-sewn netted fibrous canvas may be made from silicate or mineral filaments or combination of these filaments. One of fibrous fabrics is made from silicate filaments and other fabric is made from mineral filaments. EFFECT: increased cleaning and filtering capacity, simplified construction, wider operational capabilities and enhanced reliability in operation. 2 cl, 2 tbl
