FIELD: military equipment, rocket and artillery complexes. SUBSTANCE: the method consists in ejection of projectile from the launching tube and subsequent starting of the sustainer rocket engine; at the instant when the projectile leaves the launching tube, pitch angular velocity is imparted to it, and the sustainer rocket engine is started at angles of attack α ≥ 0. To this end, the rocket- launching complex, having a launcher with a launching tube and a projectile with bursting and sustainer engines, uses also an equatorial pitch angle velocity driver after the projectile leaves the launching tube and a sustainer engine start delay unit actuated after a time satisfying the following condition: τsafety<τ = (n-1)T/2 ... n(T/2), where τ - time after which the delay unit is actuated after the projectile leaves the launching tube; tsafety - minimum allowable time, proceeding from conditions of operator's safety, after which starting of the sustainer engine is possible; T/2 - half-cycle of lateral free angular oscillations of projectile; n= 1,3,5. . . at positive direction of equatorial pitch angle velocity imparted to projectile; n= 2,4,6... at negative direction of equatorial pitch angle velocity imparted to projectile. The equatorial pitch angle velocity driver is made in the form of a squib installed on the projectile and spaced apart relative to its center of mass. EFFECT: facilitated procedure. 5 cl, 1 dwg
