FIELD: electronic devices. SUBSTANCE: excess of emission compound from non-emitting surfaces is removed by means of laser light pulses which power is not greater than 5 J for each pulse. Diameter of beam is not greater than size of surface to be cleaned. Quality of cleaning is checked using microscope. EFFECT: increased emission contrast of emitting and non-emitting surfaces of metal-porous cathodes, increased efficiency of manufacturing when cathode heating unit with small through holes and slots is produced.
