FIELD: automatics, instrumentation engineering. SUBSTANCE: process is recommended for formation of patterns of spiral elements on sheet articles such as masks, printed-circuit boards and so on when manufacturing printed precision inductive or capacitive elements of complex configuration. Center of pattern of spiral element is set on sheet article, radii Ri and Rt of initial and terminal boundaries are determined, zones of formation of spiral element are found, actuating element (light beam of photoplotter, pen of graph plotter or cutting tool of coordinatographer) is set at initial point of spiral element and is moved over circular arcs which centers are arranged at distance r=D/4 from center of spiral element, where D is pitch of turns of spiral element. Then actuating element is moved by jump from center of preceding circular arc to center of following circular arc with discrete increase of radius Rf of formed arc and overlapping of trajectories at end of previous and start of following arcs. In this case zone of formation is divided into two half-planes which boundary passes through center of spiral element. Two centers of circular arcs are positioned on both sides of it on boundary of half-planes. Actuating element is moved in each half-plane along arc equal to half-circumference of corresponding radius. Increase of radius of formed arc under transition from one half-plane to the other is carried out by condition Rf= Rf-1+D/2.
