FIELD: cutting and treatment of surfaces of blanks of current conductive materials and hard-working metals and alloys. SUBSTANCE: electrical arc discharges are incited between electrode-tool and treated blank. Dependance of intensity of local short-circuits, that precede to arc discharge appearance, on operational feeding speed is determined. Treatment is exercised with adjustment of operational feeding speed under condition of keeping of minimum level of intensity of short circuits at raising section of determined dependance.
