FIELD: ventilation systems; entrapping contaminated convective flows from open charging openings of electric arc furnaces. SUBSTANCE: device has exhaust trunk located above electric arc furnace and crane girder, local suction located between trunk and furnace which is mounted on crane girder and is made in form of rectangular duct which consists of upper stationary part and lower part articulated to it. Lower part is rotatable relative to upper part. Transversal walls of lower part are made in form of doors. Exhaust trunk and local suction are provided with horizontal shields mounted in lower portion over their perimeters. Lower part of duct is made from flexible material.
