METHOD FOR PRODUCTION OF AQUEOUS DISPERSIONS OF (CO)POLYMERS Russian patent published in 1997 - IPC

FIELD: paint and varnish industry, treatment of leather and textile. SUBSTANCE: method is carried out by radical water-emulsion polymerization of (meth)acrylic monomers (being preliminary emulsified) or their mixtures with vinyl monomers. During said preliminary emulsification emulsion which contains monomer and water at their mass ratio 1:0.1-0.7 respectively is prepared. Anionogenic compound having formula R-O(CH₂CH₂O)_n-XO₃Me where X is S, P, Me is Na, K, NH₄, if R is alkyl then n=1-13, if R is alkyl phenyl, dialkyl phenyl, then n=6-30; or its mixture with non-ionogenic compound having common formula R-O(CH₂CH₂O)_n-H where R is alkyl phenyl, dialkyl phenyl and n=6-100 is used as emulsifier. Summary amount of emulsifiers is not less 0.5 % of monomer mass. EFFECT: improves efficiency of the method. 1 tbl
