FIELD: knitted article production. SUBSTANCE: double jersey has low-extension threads forming loop rows of lasting and high-extension threads forming loop rows of satin stitch. Double loops are formed from two threads on one side of every jersey row. Alternating rows of lasting interweaving are made from low-extension threads of unlike composition and structure. When high-extension threads or yarns or chemical threads are used for knitting through, high-quality jersey structures may be obtained. Non-braided thread of spandex-type is used as high-extension thread; cotton and textured high-volume thread are used as low-extension thread. EFFECT: increased efficiency, wider operational capabilities and enhanced reliability in operation. 5 cl, 1 dwg
