FIELD: knitted product manufacture. SUBSTANCE: double weft knitted fabric contains resilient and low-resiliency filaments arranged in alternating double-weave rows. First layer has loops formed from one low-resiliency filament, with resilient filament being simultaneously knitted to obtain rows of weft knitted surface on one side. Second layer is formed by press weaving of other low-resiliency filament thrown over other side. Weft knitted fabric has distinctly manifested double-layer structure. Filaments of different structure and composition may be used to produce weft knitted fabric of this type. EFFECT: increased efficiency, wider operational capabilities by providing production of fabric of required (increased) thickness and/or volume and improved heat-reflecting properties. 3 dwg
