FIELD: sea seismic prospecting to generate seismic images while searching for gas and oil fields in Arctic seas covered by pack ice. SUBSTANCE: source of elastic vibrations and multichannel receivers vertically installed in water are fixed on drifting block of ice. Receivers are positioned along two mutually orthogonal directions. Excitation and recording of vibrations are carried out in process of drift. Processing of obtained data is conducted along both directions in two stages.
