FIELD: analytical biochemistry, biotechnology. SUBSTANCE: lipopolysaccharides were determined by their oxidation with periodate followed by biotinylation, immobilization of the modified lipopolysaccharides on nitrocellulose membrane and development with conjugate streptavidin-alkaline phosphatase in the presence of substrates. Method ensures to detect lipopolysaccharides at concentration 1 ng/ml using 5-bromoindolyl phosphate as substrate and tetrazolium blue as chromogen and 0.1 ng/ml using 3-(2-spiroadamantan)-4-methoxy-(3''-phosphoryl)-phenyl-1,2-di-oxethanediisopropyl ethylammonium salt as substrate.
