SHOULDER SUPPORT FOR VIOLIN Russian patent published in 1997 - IPC

FIELD: violin musical instruments. SUBSTANCE: shoulder support is intended for convenience of holding of violin musical instruments while playing them. It includes plate, supporting rest mounted on plate for adjustment and rigid fixation in various positioned on mentioned plate, elastic lining attached to supporting rest, support anchored on end of plate for adjustment of its position along plate, grip hinged to end of plate free from support. Novelty of invention consists in that grip is made in the form of fork with rigid-elastic ends which are constrained between turnbuckles of chin support when shoulder support is put on violin performing fixed clamping of end of plate in specified position. Thus free end of plate plays function of second support proving for its easy removal from violin. Protrusion on support rest gives stability to whole structure of shoulder support as it plays functional of third support contacting edging of great oval of lower sounding board. It is characteristic of this structure that protrusion is located on supporting rest proper and moves together with it when plate is adjusted and fixed in any needed position and therefore stability of shoulder support is ensured in this position. Arrangement of points of contact of shoulder support with sounding board of violin is off main area of resonance of sounding board which reduces to minimum negative acoustic effect emerging with any shoulder support put on violin. Usage of contact-burdock tape makes it possible to connected and disconnected elastic lining from supporting rest easily and to change its configuration with due account of individuality of violinist. EFFECT: improved stability of shoulder support with due account of individuality of violinist. 6 dwg
