FIELD: chemical technology, inorganic chemistry. SUBSTANCE: method involves chlorination of lithium and alkaline metals (sodium, potassium) hydroxides mixture with chlorine and air mixture. Based on analysis data lithium chloride is added at amount sufficient for exchange reaction occurring with alkaline metal hypochlorite (sodium, potassium), i. e. to get the total lithium content 10% of active chlorine level and at lithium alkalinity of solution 0.6-0.7 M. Yield of lithium hypochlorite is increased by above 30% as compared with the known one. EFFECT: increased yield of the end product.
