FIELD: electrochemical methods. SUBSTANCE: lithium hydroxide is prepared by electrodialysis in a three-cell electrodialyzer from carbonate- containing wastes. The latter are dissolved, settled, decanted, filtered, and resultant solution is recycled through central cell of electrodialyzer, in cathode cell of which lithium hydroxide is formed. Solution in central cell is partially desalted and used to dissolve wastes. Electrodialyzer is also provided with cationite and anionite membranes. EFFECT: inexpensive method of lithium hydroxide production proposed.
