METHOD FOR PRODUCTION OF 1,1-2-TRIFLUORO-1-BUTENE-4-OL Russian patent published in 1997 - IPC

FIELD: organic synthesis. SUBSTANCE: at the first stage addition product of 1,2-dichloro-1,2,2-trifluoroiodoethane and vinyl acetate is prepared. The process is carried out in aqueous-acetonitrile solution in the presence of mixture of sodium dithionite and sodium bicarbonate. Then thus obtained product is treated by suspension of zinc in ethanol and by hydrochloric acid. The process is followed by extraction thus prepared product with chloroform or with methylene chloride or carbon tetrachloride and by distillation of solvent. At the third stage product being prepared at the second stage is treated by mixture of zinc dust in glycol, the process takes place at 130-150 C. EFFECT: simplified process, decreased energy expense.
