FIELD: solid fuel production. SUBSTANCE: invention concerns processes of briquetting fuel component, for example, coal sludges and small-size coal. Briquets may be utilized as fuel in household and industrial burners as well as for coking in coking and metallurgical industry. Fuel briquet of invention comprises thermally treated shaped blend of coal dust and binder containing cake from tall oil rectification bottoms in quantity at least 0.5% based on coal weight and sulfonic acid derivative (lignosulfonate or methylenenaphthalenesulfonic acid sodium salt) in quantity at least 0.5% based on coal weight. The two first components are initially mixed and the aqueous solution of the third component is then added. Shaped briquets are heated at 200-800 C for at least 4 min. EFFECT: improved procedure. 6 cl
